made-for-web videos
Video has come a long way as a means of communication over the years. Historically, video for commerce and industry was delivered to television in the form of TV commercials (TVCs) - but increasingly video became a communication tool for commerce and industry through the adoption of videotape technology like VHS and Beta.
We have 'grown up' as video producers through these innovations. We made video for mainstream television and later for tape distribution using professional formats like BVU, Betacam and Betacam SP - editing on 2" Quad, 1" B and C formats, BVU and Betacam edit suites. (This detail may be a bit beyond you, but video experts will know we have 'cred' in video production having worked with these formats and systems.)
More latterly, we've used newer Broadcast formats like Sony DigiBeta (and other 'pro' formats) where the highest 'Broadcast Quality' output is required -- but for the most part in this new Century with its increasing emphasis on video-for-web delivery, the highest-quality Broadcast acquisition formats are 'overkill'.
Don't be led by the nose by your advertising agency - 4K (Ultra HD) video may give them a thrill and they'll tell you your video will win awards -- but all that does is fuel their egos. An 'award winning' video only means you're paying more money than you need to - and it will attract not one more eye-ball than a more cost-effective highly polished video made by us in 1080p. And if you want to place your video on the web, high-end 4K video output means higher file-sizes which take longer to load to the web, and more importantly, longer to download to your target markets - and that means no matter how subjectively good 4k video may be, it will NOT be watched by the vast majority of web viewers who will give up if download and 'good 'streaming' is not acceptably fast.
And please - don't think you can make your video/s yourself. 'Spraying' your IPhone around capturing video which might be hilariously funny to you (by all means do so if your audience is under 20!) but it will do you and your brand more damage than having no video at all. Making your own video is like thinking you can take out your own appendix -- lots of luck!
Today, we use state-of-the art video cameras and computer-based edit technologies to do all that 'traditional' mainstream TV technologies do - but at a fraction of the cost and in a fraction of the time. And because our experience stretches back into traditional television technologies, we bring exceptional tricks and techniques forward into 'new age' video production which means we produce great video for the web at costs you can afford.
So what do you want to do - pay heaps more money to feed egos or stick up your own poorly-made videos which will hurt your brand - or do you want to REALLY COMMUNICATE using video, most cost-effectively? The decision is yours!
Simply put, we do good video, particularly in the 'news' or 'current affairs' genré. Here's some random examples below...
Be aware that these videos may take a few minutes to load, depending on your quality of your web connection and speeds delivered by your Internet Service Provider. Those in government or corporate web environments may find that your IT Departments may block videos. If this is the case, speak to your IT administrators. Please ensure your speakers are 'on' and not on 'mute'....
